Lorien Health Services, a family-owned nursing home, rehabilitation, assisted living, home care and outpatient therapy company, will cut the ribbon on its expansion and new therapy facility in its Bel Air location.
The expansion will house a fully electric BMW i3. Leased in partnership with Priority 1 Automotive-BMW of Bel Air, the electric sedan will be a key tool used to rehabilitate patients so they can resume their daily routine in the community. It will also include 34 new assisted living apartments and 48 new skilled nursing facility beds.
Lorien is the first retirement community in Maryland to feature an actual sedan in a rehabilitation gym dedicated solely for the use of residents. Lorien’s Bel Air location was also recently awarded a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
